Lots of Socks Day
On Friday, 19th March the College Well-being Pillar invited staff and students to celebrate “Lots of Socks Day” to bring awareness to World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD), a day that has been officially recognised by the UN since 2012. This day was created to form a single global voice to advocate for the rights, well being, and inclusion of people with Down syndrome.
Students and staff were invited to wear their craziest socks to school on this day.
This was not a fundraising event, but an event to raise awareness.
Kindy has been busy with Lots of Socks day on Tuesday. Miss Rachel Parker works in Kindy on a Tuesday and she has Down Syndrome. Rachel told us a bit about herself living with Down Syndrome.
We also had many beautiful costumes on Harmony Day, thank you to all of our parents for sharing.
We have started to explore Easter and the children have been collaborating together to decorate an egg.
