Student Achievement
Charlie Muggeridge (Year 12) was announced as a 2023 VETDSS Student of the Year finalist. On Monday 25 March, Mrs Sainty and Ms Liley had the honour of attending the SMTAFE Student Awards Ceremony at Bentley Pines Training Restaurant to support Charlie.
Charlie was nominated by her TAFE lecturer (Ben Tan) last year as she completed a Cert II in Hospitality through the VETDSS program at SMTAFE. She was in the top 3 of over 3000 VETDSS students and was in fine company with the other two finalists in this category, having gone through rigorous nomination rounds including an interview by a panel.
On the evening, Charlie was recognised by SMTAFE Managing Director (Darshi Ganeson-Oats), had her citation read by the SMTAFE ATSU and Education Pathways Manager (Soumya Narayanan), and was presented with her finalist certificate by the Minister for Training and Workplace Development; Water; and Industrial Relations, the Hon. Simone McGurk MLA.
Unfortunately Charlie was not the overall winner in the category, but to be nominated is a huge success and speaks volumes in how hard our MTCC students work. Well done Charlie!
