Year 7 Orientation Day!

Today was an exciting day for our next cohort of Year 7 students at Mother Teresa Catholic College as they stepped into their secondary College journey!

They kicked off the day with a taste of what’s to come, exploring some of the amazing electives they’ll be able to dive into in the years ahead—from clay building to cooking to woodworking!

But it wasn’t just about classes! Our Year 7s had a blast making new friends and bonding through fun team-building games, while also embracing moments of reflection with faith enrichment and mindfulness activities. It’s the perfect mix of learning, growth, and friendship that makes our College community so special.

We can’t wait to see all the incredible things our Year 7s will achieve in the coming years. Welcome to the Mother Teresa Catholic College family!

CONGRATULATIONS:

Year 9 student Peyton Govier, has just finished representing Australia in the Futsal U14s UK tour.

The tour started in Wales with the Australian team competing in a two-day round robin for the Roy Miller Cup, this was a mixed competition, girls and boys playing against each other. Peyton scored 6 goals over the two days, 5 times in three games on day two, resulting in winning the competition for the girls. From there they played multiple games in England and also finished top girls, then made their way to Scotland. In Scotland they competed in the Scossie Cup, where the Australian girls had never made a final in all their history. Not this year, Peyton and the team played well through the group stages, they won their semi-final 3-1 and had the final shortly after. They dictated play and increased the intensity for the final 10 minutes, but unfortunately the girls had nothing left in the tank and lost the final 3-1. First time the Australian girls team had reached the finals and first time being runners up.

Peyton was awarded the Girls Class Act Award, which was given to the player who displayed the most respect, listening and sportsmanship on and off the court throughout the whole tour.

Congratulations, Peyton, We are incredibly proud of you!
