Our Digital Vision

Our Vision for Learning not only explains the implementation of technology but also sets the trajectory for digital teaching and the overall learning environment. The principles of Challenge, Connection, and Contribution are integral to our educational approach, fostering innovation, agency, collaboration, inquiry, and inclusivity among staff and students. Through ongoing assessments, including regular surveys and community feedback, our vision remains dynamic and responsive to the needs of our educators and learners. For instance, in 2024, our focus is on enhancing teacher interaction through Apple Classwork, which facilitates personalised feedback and progress tracking.

Professional Development

At Mother Teresa Catholic College, our Core Leadership Team champions our Vision by endorsing and participating in professional development sessions. Our bi-weekly iPad Academy workshops, led by our Digital Leaders Team, are pivotal in enhancing faculty proficiency with Apple’s suite of tools like iWork, GarageBand, Freeform, and Clips. The team’s pursuit of Apple Learning Coach certification further ensures continuous, tailored professional development.

Digital Modes of Learning

All faculty members at our College are certified Apple Teachers, integrating a variety of digital methods into daily activities. This approach transforms traditional educational activities, offering students various means to express their knowledge—ranging from multimodal books in the early years to documentaries, podcast episodes, and app prototypes in the senior years.

Digital Communication Skills

Introduced in 2022, our Digital Communication courses empower students to use technology creatively. This curriculum complements our inquiry-based learning model, enhancing students' ability to utilise iPad technology for exploring their creativity through photography, video, animation, drawing, and audio projects. Our students excel in amplifying their voices and extending their digital creations beyond classroom boundaries, evidenced by initiatives like our student-led podcast, which fosters community and well-being.

Lighthouse School

Our commitment to digital education has established Mother Teresa Catholic College as a beacon of innovation in the Perth area. Recognised as a lighthouse school, we continue to use Apple technology to inspire and impact educational practices, setting a benchmark for excellence and creativity in teaching and learning.
